In 2017 I lost nearly 30 lbs in about 4 months on a very popular weight loss program. Then the program changed its rules and suddenly, although the foods I ate didn't change, I was no longer meeting the parameters of the program. I believe that it was the visual confirmation that I wasn't meeting parameters that ultimately messed with my mindset and prompted me to fall back into old eating habits. Within 2 years I had gained back 50 lbs - 20 more than I lost to start with!
That's not the first time that I lost some weight just to gain back more when I stopped following the program - but it WAS the last time. I tried to follow other plans and even went back to this "successful" one and nothing would stick for more than a few days. Eventually I gave up and quit actively trying to lose weight.
After the pandemic I started studying nutrition in my spare time, thinking maybe if I understood it better then maybe I could at least lose a little weight again. This ultimately led me to the decision to become a certified nutrition coach, so that I could help other women like myself get off of the yo-yo diet cycle and into something sustainable for life.
